Israeli Gartner Cool Vendors 2018

30 Israeli startups in Gartner’s Cool Vendor 2018 List

Every January, Gartner analysts nominate vendors that have the potential to transform their markets, regardless of their level of funding or the size of the company. Vendors aren’t able to apply and don’t know they are even being considered, as Gartner treats it as a purely internal process. What’s in it for the winners? they stand up from their peers and join a prestigious club, whose previous winners in Israel predicted the success of Mobileye and Waze among others.

The criteria – according to  of a Cool Vendor is a small company offering a technology or service that is:

  • Innovative — Enables users to do things they couldn’t do before;
  • Impactful — Has or will have a business impact, not just technology for its own sake;
  • Intriguing — Has caught Gartner’s interest during the past six months.

The Cool Vendors report started in 2004 and has been awarded to 3,100 companies to date. This year, Gartner decided to publish the report in two instances, one in June and one in Dec. In the current batch, 269 startups were mentioned, including 133 from the US, 31 from Israel (12% – second only to the US), 20 from the UK, 10 from China and Canada.
