Israeli Tops Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Ranking: Takes First, Second and Third Places in Europe

Consulting firm Deloitte announced the full list of EMEA’s (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) 500 fastest-growing technology companies on November 27th. The program recognizes private and public technology companies that have achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth in EMEA over the course of the past five years in all areas of technology, from internet to biotechnology, from medical and scientific to computers and hardware.

The Israeli high tech showed significant domination, having won the first, second and third places.

On the top of the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list stands Israel’s Voltaire Ltd, provider of grid backbone solutions for networks. The company focuses on improving data center efficiency by enabling grid computing deployments on commodity server and storage offerings. Voltaire showed a remarkable five-year revenue growth rate of 50,612 percen, mostly attributable to its agreements with major tier-one server solutions companies such as IBM, HP and SGI, and its sales relationships with Sun, and NEC.

On the second place, Celltick Technologies, with almost 30% growth in revenue over the past 5 years. Celltick pioneered Active Content Discovery – the most effective method of promoting mobile content. According to Celltick, over 35 million active users worldwide are already connected to LiveScreen, and ~1.5 million join every month. Celltick’s main product is LiveScreen Media, launched in 2006. It allows advertisers and brand owners to display carefully segmented marketing messages on millions of mobile idle screens. Smart idea.

Following is Runcom Technologies, who develops silicon semiconductors for Mobile WiMAX. Runcom provides a variety of OFDMA^® based components, channel cards, stand alone units and reference designs for fixed and for mobile WiMAX base stations. Led by Dr. Zion Hadad, Runcom is banking on the fact that mobile technology is constantly improving, making its OFDMA^® enabled product the best technology out there.

Lastly, Red Bend Mobile, the market leader in Mobile Software Management and Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) update solutions. Red Bend’s patented solutions enable cell operators to reduce support costs and accelerate the adoption of new services on mobile phones and wireless modules. Another honorary mention goes to Bio View, an Israeli company who made it to #38 on the general ranking, but took the first spot in the biotech sector.

It is the first year in which one country occupies the first three places. Israel was ranked by analysts as the fastest growing followed by the Netherlands.
